Korba Yogi Sachin Vishwakarma Bags Gold at National Yoga Championship

KORBA: Korba’s Sachin Vishwakarma brought laurels to the city and Chhattisgarh by securing the Gold Medal in the Traditional Event at the 5th Indian National Yoga Sports Championship held at Maheshwari Bhavan in Andheri West, Mumbai, from September 25 to 27.

Competing in his respective age category, Vishwakarma secured the first position with an impressive performance. The championship was organised under the aegis of the International Yoga Sports Federation and witnessed participation of yoga athletes from across the country in different age categories. Around 20 participants from Chhattisgarh also took part in the championship.

Vishwakarma, Director of Omkara Yogshala, Korba, has represented the State at several national-level yoga competitions and won medals on various occasions. His latest achievement has brought recognition to Korba and Chhattisgarh at the national level.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Bollywood actress Pooja Batra, former Miss World and actress Aditi Govitrikar, and actor Deepak Tijori.

Following his gold-winning performance at the national championship, Vishwakarma has been selected to participate in an upcoming International Yoga Competition in Italy. He will represent India and Chhattisgarh at the international event.

The achievement has been widely appreciated by yoga enthusiasts and sportspersons in Korba, who congratulated Vishwakarma and wished him success for the upcoming international competition.
