CM Sai Returns from Successful Japan & South Korea Tour

Grand Welcome at Airport; Traditional Karma-Panthi Dances Fill the Air with Festivity
Raipur, August 30, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today returned to Raipur after an eight-day foreign tour of Japan and South Korea. On his arrival, a grand welcome was accorded to him at the airport. The entire airport premises reverberated with the rhythm of Chhattisgarh’s traditional Karma and Panthi dances for nearly an hour. The huge turnout of people itself testified to the popularity of Chief Minister Shri Sai and the success of his foreign tour. He was greeted with floral bouquets and garlands. Covering a distance of nearly 100 metres from the airport exit to the media gallery took him about 15 minutes, as people showered flowers along the way. Later, addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the grand reception. He said that both Japan and South Korea have a large Indian community, including many people from Chhattisgarh engaged in business there. Meeting them was heartwarming, and it did not feel as though we were in a foreign land. He added that Indian entrepreneurs and traders are spread across the world, bringing glory to the name of Bharat everywhere.
Foreign Investments and Development Prospects to Open Up in Chhattisgarh
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said that his visits to Japan and South Korea had been successful and would open up new avenues of foreign investment and industrial development in Chhattisgarh. He noted that during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Japan visit, it was agreed that Japan would invest ₹6 lakh crore in India and prepare a 10-year economic roadmap. A significant portion of this will benefit Chhattisgarh. Agreements between India and Japan are expected to boost investment in AI, semiconductors, and defence sectors, creating major employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Agreements on AI, Semiconductors, Textiles, and Food Processing
The Chief Minister said that during his visit, discussions with Japan and South Korea led to consent for large-scale investments in AI, semiconductors, textiles, and food processing. Alongside, several industrial institutions also put forward investment proposals for Chhattisgarh. These investment proposals will create a substantial number of jobs for the youth.
He informed that during the tour, discussions were also held with trade association representatives of both Japan and South Korea. They showed a positive outlook towards expanding trade and increasing investments. The Chief Minister said that business organizations in both countries were briefed about Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy and its incentive provisions. He also apprised them of the availability of strong infrastructure for AI and semiconductor investments. They were informed that India’s first Data Centre Park is located in Chhattisgarh. He further stated that rapid investment is taking place in the semiconductor sector in the state, with financial incentives being provided to support it.
Chhattisgarh Showcased in Japanese Language at Osaka World Expo
The Chief Minister said that at the World Expo held in Osaka, Japan, the state had set up its pavilion which witnessed more than 30,000 visitors every day. He added that people gathered detailed information about Chhattisgarh’s industrial landscape, investment opportunities, and culture. With pride, he highlighted that Chhattisgarh was the only state to present its complete information in Japanese language at the Osaka Expo, which proved instrumental in effectively communicating with Japanese investors.
First-Ever Delegation from Chhattisgarh to South Korea
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed delight that for the first time a delegation from Chhattisgarh visited South Korea. Information about Chhattisgarh was also shared in the Korean language, which helped establish strong connections with investors. Shri Sai informed that an MoU was signed with ICCK in South Korea. ICCK will now serve as Chhattisgarh’s knowledge partner, which will play a crucial role in providing skilled manpower for industries coming under the state’s new industrial policy.
Chief Minister Shri Sai concluded by stating that through this tour of Japan and South Korea, Chhattisgarh has demonstrated that it will not confine itself only to major investment hubs within India. “We will reach out to the entire world, secure markets for Chhattisgarh’s products globally, and also bring investments to our state,” Shri Sai affirmed.
