Coal India Medical Conference – CIMECON 2026 Concludes Successfully

The three-day national conference, Coal India Medical Conference – CIMECON 2026, hosted by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bilaspur, concluded successfully today on 02 March 2026.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Human Resources), Coal India Limited, as the Chief Guest. The function was presided over by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), SECL. Senior officials present on the occasion included Dr. Somshubhro Gupta, Head of Medical Services, Coal India; Dr. Shrutidev Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, SECL; Dr. Arihant Jain, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, along with a large number of senior doctors and officers.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vinay Ranjan expressed pride in Coal India’s robust medical network comprising nearly 1,200 dedicated doctors serving across 16 major hospitals and more than 80 peripheral hospitals in various coalfield regions of the country. He emphasized that doctors are not only healthcare providers but also vital pillars of organizational productivity and efficiency, stating that a healthy workforce forms the foundation of sustained high performance. He underscored the importance of leveraging modern technology, digital health monitoring, and data analytics in medical services, noting that the healthcare systems of the future must be technology-enabled, transparent, and outcome-oriented.
Over the course of three days, the conference featured pre-conference workshops, scientific sessions, and technical presentations. More than 250 doctors and medical experts from reputed institutions across the country, along with medical professionals from Coal India and its subsidiary companies, presented research papers and case studies. Detailed deliberations were held on key topics including occupational diseases in mining areas, emergency medical management, advanced diagnostic techniques, telemedicine, digital health monitoring, and hospital management systems.
During the closing ceremony, awards were presented to winners of the Best Case Presentation, and certificates were distributed to participants.
CIMECON 2026 served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and fostering innovation in medical services across Coal India’s healthcare ecosystem.
