Electoral Roll Revision Schedule Issued for Municipal and Three-Tier Panchayat General/Bye-Elections in December 2026

Raipur, September 29, 2026/

The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission, Nava Raipur, has issued a revision schedule today for the preparation of electoral rolls in connection with the general and by-elections for municipalities and three-tier panchayats scheduled for December 2026.

State Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh said the electoral roll revision schedule covers 417 posts under the Municipal General Elections. These include Mayor posts in four Municipal Corporations—Bhilai, Bhilai-Charoda, Risali and Birgaon—along with 13 Chairperson posts and 400 Councillor posts. For the Municipal Bye-Elections, the revision schedule has been issued for one Chairperson post and six Councillor posts. Similarly, for the Three-Tier Panchayats, the electoral roll revision schedule has been issued for a total of 814 posts, including one Janpad Panchayat Member, 92 Sarpanch and 721 Panch posts.

The State Election Commissioner informed that the electoral rolls are being prepared with October 1, 2026, as the reference date. The draft of electoral rolls will be published on October 23, 2026, following which claims and objections will be invited. After disposal of the claims and objections, the final electoral rolls will be published on November 30, 2026.

To ensure that the electoral roll revision process is carried out accurately, transparently and within the stipulated timeframe, a total of 33 Electoral Roll Observers will be appointed for all 33 districts.
