Young Kathak Artist from Korba Honoured at Pranavam Festival

KORBA: Parvatham Yodha, a Class V student of Delhi Public School, BALCO Nagar, Korba, has brought laurels to her school, family and district with her outstanding performance in Kathak at the Pranavam Festival 2026.The National Level Competition and Festival of Performing Arts, organised by Sai Nritya Nilayam, was held in Bilaspur from August 29 to September 3. Yodha was honoured with the prestigious ‘Pranavam Kala Lalita’ recognition along with a Certificate of Achievement for her outstanding performance in Kathak.
Yodha presented Kathak with grace, confidence and expressive artistry, highlighting the beauty and richness of Indian classical dance. Her performance reflected her command over rhythm, footwork, expressions, traditional compositions and stage presentation.She is undergoing rigorous training in Kathak under the guidance of renowned Guru Pt Mordhwaj Vaishnav. Her regular practice and participation in competitions and cultural festivals have helped her hone her skills as a promising young Kathak performer.
Her achievement has brought pride to Delhi Public School, BALCO Nagar, as well as Korba district. Her father, P. Sathish Kumar, expressed happiness over the recognition and credited her achievement to Yodha’s dedication, her Guru’s guidance and the constant support of the family. At a young age, Yodha continues to pursue the rich tradition of Indian classical dance with dedication and enthusiasm. She aspires to take the legacy of Kathak and the Raigarh Gharana tradition to wider platforms.
