Korba, 29 May 2026.NTPC Limited Korba’s Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) continued its efforts towards nurturing confidence and aspirations among young girls through a series of inspiring interactive sessions conducted under its Role Model Initiative from May 22 to 25, 2026.
Now in its seventh year, the GEM programme at NTPC Korba has emerged as a significant platform for the holistic development of girls from neighbouring communities. Over the years, the initiative has positively impacted nearly 660 girls by encouraging education, personality development, and self-confidence.
As part of the initiative, distinguished personalities from various fields interacted with the participants, sharing their life experiences and motivating the girls to pursue their dreams with determination and self-belief.
On May 22, Col. Senthil Kumar S of the Indian Army addressed the participants and spoke about the importance of discipline, courage, hard work, and perseverance in achieving success. Sharing experiences from his professional journey, he encouraged the girls to remain resilient and focused in life.
“Success does not come overnight. Discipline, hard work and self-belief are the strongest weapons to overcome every challenge in life,” he remarked.
On May 23, Madhuri Som interacted with the GEM girls and highlighted the importance of education, confidence, and continuous learning. She urged the participants to dream without limitations and work consistently towards their goals.
“With dedication, confidence and education, every girl has the power to create her own identity and inspire others,” she said.
The motivational series concluded on May 25 with an interaction by Sanju Devi Rajput, who shared valuable insights from her journey in public service and leadership. Stressing the significance of determination, self-belief, and social responsibility, she encouraged the girls to face challenges with courage and persistence.
“Every success story has a struggle behind it. Challenges are a part of life, but with determination and hard work, success surely follows,” she observed.
The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from the GEM girls, who actively engaged with the dignitaries and drew inspiration from their experiences. The initiative not only broadened their perspectives but also instilled confidence and renewed motivation among the participants.
Through such meaningful engagements, NTPC Korba continues to provide a nurturing platform aimed at empowering young girls with knowledge, confidence, and leadership qualities to shape a brighter future.
