CIMECON 2026 Inaugurated at SECL, Bilaspur

National-level Coal India Medical Conference Sees Participation of 250+ Doctors

BILASPUR, March 1: The Coal India Medical Conference – CIMECON 2026 was inaugurated on Saturday at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bilaspur, marking the commencement of a significant national-level medical conclave focused on strengthening healthcare systems in mining areas.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Shri Brijesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief Vigilance Officer, Coal India Limited, in the presence of Shri Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, SECL.

Among those present on the occasion were Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources); Shri D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance); Shri Himanshu Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer; and Shri Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra, Director (Technical – Planning & Projects), SECL. The dignitaries also unveiled the conference souvenir during the inaugural session.

Dr Shrutidev Mishra, Chief Medical Services (CMS), SECL, and Dr Arihant Jain, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Indira Vihar Hospital, along with senior doctors and officials, attended the programme.

More than 250 doctors representing Coal India Limited and its subsidiary companies are participating in CIMECON 2026. Eminent medical experts from reputed hospitals and medical institutions across the country have also joined the deliberations.

The conference featured in-depth discussions on occupational health concerns of employees working in mining areas, early diagnosis of diseases, adoption of advanced medical technologies, emergency medical management, and digital health monitoring systems. Experts presented research papers showcasing innovative treatment approaches and effective healthcare management models.

Addressing the gathering, speakers underscored the importance of building a modern, robust and compassionate healthcare framework to achieve the vision of “Healthy Mines.”
