KORBA, July 31: Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited, India’s largest aluminium producer, has reported a strong financial performance in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, marking its first quarterly results as an independent listed company. The company posted a 205 per cent year-on-year surge in profit after tax (PAT) to ₹6,597 crore, while EBITDA rose 134 per cent to a record ₹10,499 crore. The Board of Directors also approved the first interim dividend of ₹8 per equity share.

The company’s revenue climbed to an all-time high of ₹21,105 crore, registering a 45 per cent increase over the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, driven by higher sales volumes and favourable market realisations. Improved operational efficiencies and cost optimisation helped EBITDA margin reach a record 50 per cent.

Vedanta Aluminium further strengthened its balance sheet by reducing its net debt-to-EBITDA ratio from 1.3x in the previous quarter to 0.9x. Reflecting its improved financial position, both CRISIL and ICRA upgraded the company’s credit rating to AA+ (Stable).

Operational performance also remained robust. Aluminium production touched a record 632 kilotonnes, up 5 per cent year-on-year, while value-added products (VAP) output rose to 389 kilotonnes, registering a 14 per cent annual growth. Alumina production increased 41 per cent year-on-year to 826 kilotonnes, supported by higher refinery capacity utilisation.

Commenting on the performance, Rajesh Kumar, Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the company had made a strong beginning as an independent entity, backed by operational excellence, disciplined execution and a long-term growth strategy. He said the company’s focus on securing raw materials, enhancing operational efficiency and expanding value-added products would further strengthen its global competitiveness.

Anup Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer, said the record quarterly revenue, EBITDA and profit reflected the company’s strong fundamentals, healthier balance sheet and improved credit profile, providing greater flexibility to pursue strategic growth opportunities.

On the sustainability front, Vedanta Aluminium said it reached nearly 4 lakh people through CSR initiatives during the quarter and provided skill development support to around 72,000 beneficiaries. Renewable energy consumption increased by 38 per cent year-on-year, while greenhouse gas emissions declined. The company also reused about 4.9 million cubic metres of water, achieved 120 per cent fly ash utilisation, and has planted 2.9 million trees under its biodiversity initiatives. It also reported continued improvement in workplace safety and maintained 21 per cent gender diversity across its workforce.
