Bilaspur, August 30: The three-day National Music Festival ‘Pranavam 2026’ witnessed a unique Tabla Jugalbandi celebrating the rich Guru-Shishya tradition of Indian classical music. The captivating performance by Tabla maestro Mordhwaj Vaishnav along with his disciples Parth Yadav and Shreyas Devangan left music lovers spellbound.
The presentation brought together the experience and maturity of the Guru with the youthful energy and talent of his disciples. The artists engaged in a vibrant musical dialogue through taal, laya, rhythmic variations, intricate bols and impressive displays of speed and precision.
Performing under the guidance of their Guru, Parth Yadav and Shreyas Devangan showcased commendable command over the Tabla and reflected their dedication and discipline towards the classical art form. Their synchronised performance, coupled with the maestro’s rich experience, created a memorable musical experience for the audience.
The auditorium reverberated with applause as the artists presented intricate rhythmic patterns and melodious compositions. The Jugalbandi also provided the audience an insight into the depth and beauty of the Guru-Shishya tradition, which has played a vital role in preserving and transmitting India’s classical music heritage across generations.
During the festival, Tabla maestro Mordhwaj Vaishnav was conferred with the prestigious ‘Pranavam Dronacharya Samman’ in recognition of his dedication to music and his contribution to nurturing the next generation of artistes.
His disciples Parth Yadav and Shreyas Devangan were also honoured with the ‘Sangeet Kalapurna Samman’ for their dedication and noteworthy performances.
The special Tabla Jugalbandi emerged as one of the memorable highlights of ‘Pranavam 2026’, celebrating not only the artistry of the three performers but also the enduring bond between a Guru and his disciples.
