“Run for Unity” organized at SECL Headquarters on the occasion of National Unity Day 2025
Bilaspur,On October 31, 2025, a grand and enthusiastic “Run for Unity” was organized at the Headquarters of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bilaspur, to mark National Unity Day 2025. The event was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and to reinforce the spirit of national unity, integrity, and self-reliance.
The run was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), in the presence of Shri D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance), Smt. Ipsita Das, Vice President, Shraddha Mahila Mandal, other members of the Mandal, departmental heads, officers, employees, trade union representatives, and school children at the Vasant Vihar Sports Ground. The run commenced amidst an atmosphere of energy, enthusiasm, and patriotism, concluding at the Rose Garden in Nehru Centenary Nagar, SECL. The event was also part of the Government of India’s “Fit India Freedom Run” campaign.
Addressing the participants, Director (HR) Shri Biranchi Das said, “National Unity Day reminds us of the indomitable courage and vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united the nation as one. Events like the Fit India Freedom Run not only promote fitness awareness among youth and employees but also symbolize teamwork and collective energy.”
More than 250 participants, including SECL officers and employees, students and teachers from DAV School, took part in the run. The participants enthusiastically raised slogans such as “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, and “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”, spreading the message of unity and fitness. The venue was beautifully decorated with banners and messages celebrating national integration and physical well-being.
The event concluded successfully at SECL’s Nehru Centenary Nagar campus.
