NTPC Korba Commissions KIOSK-Based Substation Automation System for 400kV Switchyard

Korba, August 2025.NTPC Korba achieved a key technological milestone with the successful commissioning of its KIOSK-based Substation Automation System (SAS) for the 400kV switchyard. The system was formally inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Khanna, Executive Director (ED), NTPC Korba, in the presence of senior officials and employees.

As part of the first phase, Generation Unit #3 bay has been successfully migrated to this advanced SAS platform, marking the beginning of a phased implementation plan for the remaining bays.
The newly implemented SAS enables real-time monitoring, enhanced operational reliability, and improved control of switchyard operations.
This initiative reflects NTPC Korba’s commitment to adopting smart technologies to strengthen operational efficiency and power system management.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Rajeev Khanna stated,
“The commissioning of the Substation Automation System is a major step towards modernizing our switchyard operations. This technology will not only improve reliability and efficiency but also support NTPC Korba’s mission of delivering safe and uninterrupted power to the nation.”
