New Initiative for Women’s Empowerment: Panchayat & Rural Development Dept. to Launch ‘Didi Ke Goth’ Radio Programme

Programme to be broadcast on all Akashvani stations on August 31 at 12:15 pm

Raipur, August 30, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that “the true meaning of good governance will be realized only when our rural women are empowered socially, economically, and within their families.” With this farsighted vision, the Government of Chhattisgarh has taken a historic step to inspire women towards self-reliance and independence.

Under the State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), a special radio programme “Didi Ke Goth” will be launched on August 31, 2025, at 12:15 pm. The programme will be broadcast simultaneously from Akashvani Raipur as well as all other Akashvani stations across the state. It will also be available through live streaming on the online platform (www.onlineradiofm.in/stations/all-india-air-raipur). Didi Ke Goth is not just another radio programme but a reflection of the visionary approach of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s good governance.

The aim of this initiative is to take women’s voices to society at large, highlight their struggles and achievements, and connect them with government schemes that can bring about positive transformation in their lives.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister for Rural Development, Government of India, and the Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh & Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Shri Vijay Sharma, will convey special messages and inspirational greetings to rural women. This moment will mark not just the launch of a programme but also the establishment of a powerful medium for taking government policies and schemes directly to the people.

The primary objective of Didi Ke Goth is to link women from rural areas with various government schemes, provide them opportunities for self-employment, and lead them on the path of self-reliance and independence. The programme will also feature stories of successful women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) — how they overcame struggles and hardships with determination and confidence, not only achieving economic strength but also creating a new identity in society. Today, lakhs of women in Chhattisgarh have become “Lakhpati Didis.” Their lives have been positively transformed through the Bihan scheme. Their inspiring stories will be carried through radio to every village and every household, motivating other women to follow the path of self-reliance.

To further expand the impact of this programme, arrangements for collective listening have been made at the level of panchayats, village organizations, and cluster organizations. Public representatives, administrative officers, local community members, and SHG women will actively participate.

Through such collective listening, an atmosphere of dialogue, discussion, and inspiration will emerge in rural areas. Didi Ke Goth is not just a radio programme; it is a true reflection of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s farsighted vision of good governance. Its purpose is to bring the voices of women to society, showcase their struggles and achievements, and connect them with government initiatives to lead them towards positive change.
