Lara receives first rake of coal through MGR from Talaipali


Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC and Shri Chandan Kumar Mandal, Director (Commercial) NTPC flagged-off the first rake of coal from Talaipali coal mine to NTPC Lara through MGR on 21st November 2022.
The length of MGR track from Lara to Talaipali is 65 KMs. With commencement of coal transportation from Talaipali mine, fuel requirement of Lara station will be fulfilled greatly and that will be resulted into meeting the energy need of Chhattisgarh and central Indian states. The annual coal requirement of Lara station is around 7-8 million metric ton (MMT). At present from its installed capacity of 1600 megawatt, 50 percent electricity i.e., 800 megawatt is being supplied to state Chhattisgarh.


On this occasion Shri Ashwini Kumar Tripathy, RED (WR-II & OS), Shri Partha Mazumder, RED (Coal mining), Shri Diwakar Kaushik, BUH (Lara) Shri SK Ray, BUH (Talaipali) and Shri Neeraj Jalota, BUH (Dulanga) and other senior officials were present in the flagging-off ceremony.
Upon reaching the coal rake at Lara station a small function was organized. Shri Diwakar Kaushik, CGM (Lara) expressed his happiness and congratulates all employees for this historical moment of Lara station. Addressing the employees Shri Kaushik praised the effort of each employee who was associated with this work and urged everyone to put their best effort to take Lara station to new heights.
