Chief Secretary reviewed functioning of Public Distribution System

Raipur, 07 February 2023. Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain reviewed the distribution of food grains to ration card holders under Public Distribution System (PDS) at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on Monday. He has instructed the officials of the Food Department to ensure that the ration card holders get regular food grains on time from the government fair price shops. He has also asked them to monitor the same.

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary took detailed information regarding the technical problems faced in the EPoS machine and server under the Public Distribution System and asked to take appropriate action to resolve the problems. Officials concerned, operators of fair price shops, food inspectors, and N.I.C. representatives gave information about their work in regard to the distribution of food grains.

Food Department Secretary Shri Topeshwar Verma, along with senior officers of the Food Department, food inspectors of Raipur, Durg, and Dhamtari districts, representatives of NIC, the technical team, and operators of fair price shops attended the meeting.
