DFA Narayanpur Lift NTPC Korba Junior Boys’ Inter-District State Football Championship Title

KORBA, Aug. 6: DFA Narayanpur emerged champions of the Junior Boys’ Inter-District State Football Championship organised under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of NTPC Korba, following a dominant campaign that showcased the district’s promising football talent.

The five-day championship, held at the NTPC Korba Football Ground from July 30 to August 3, witnessed participation from eight district football associations across Chhattisgarh. The tournament served as a platform for young footballers to display their skills while promoting grassroots football and identifying emerging talent in the State.
Narayanpur delivered consistently impressive performances throughout the competition, including a convincing 8-0 victory over DFA Balod, to clinch the championship title. Their disciplined approach, attacking football and effective teamwork made them deserving winners.
As part of the talent development initiative, 30 outstanding players were selected on the basis of their performances during the tournament. They will undergo a 21-day residential coaching camp from August 4 to August 25, where experienced coaches will provide advanced technical, tactical and physical training to prepare them for higher-level competitions.
Congratulating the champions, NTPC Korba praised DFA Narayanpur for their remarkable achievement and appreciated the efforts of all participating teams for displaying sportsmanship and competitive spirit. The organisation also acknowledged the contribution of district football associations, coaches, referees, officials, volunteers and support staff in ensuring the successful conduct of the championship.
