NTPC Korba’s Business Excellence Department proudly hosted the Station Level Quality Circle Convention on August 2, 2024, marking a significant event in the company’s journey towards excellence. The convention saw enthusiastic participation from eleven teams, each presenting their innovative problem-solving projects.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Honourable Head of Project (HoP) Korba, Sh. Rajeev Khanna, who was joined by GM (O&M), GM (Maintenance), GM (FM), various Heads of Departments, Union representatives, a Senior Member from the Quality Circles Federation of India (QCFI) Bhilai, and several Quality Circle Teams. The occasion was also graced by the Head of Human Resources (HOHR).
An exciting highlight of this year’s convention was the introduction of eco-friendly Sal leaf plates, a new initiative aimed at promoting green practices. Snacks served during the convention were presented on these biodegradable plates, underscoring NTPC Korba’s commitment to environmental sustainability. This initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and represents a step forward in its journey towards excellence.
The convention featured rigorous evaluations by an external judge from QCFI Bhilai and an internal judge. The teams competed with high spirits and presented their projects, which focused on problem-solving from both technical and non-technical perspectives.

- Second Prize: LQC Team Supertech
- Third Prize: QC Team Lakshya from the Operations Department
- Consolation Awards: Teams ‘Innovation’, ‘Utkarsh’, and ‘Prithvi’
The award ceremony was presided over by HoP Sh. Rajeev Khanna, who congratulated all participants for their impressive performances. He also commended the Business Excellence team for organizing a successful convention that fostered knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
